Obelis Productions was established by producers Jonathan Sagall and Guy Allon for the purpose of creating new innovative feature films and providing a home for original thinkers, filmmakers from around the world, eager to break the mold, take a crack at controversy and probe the human condition.

Obelis Productions also offers full production services in the United Kingdom and in Israel  –  from finding the ideal landscape/venue/staircase down to tracking the best talent/crew/coffee, covering all formats including film, television and other media that require facilitating.

 The Man Disappeared a fiction drama by Jonathan Sagall. An Israeli opera director is hired by a Berlin opera theatre. As he struggles to complete his artistic mission, he is overshadowed by past events which may be beyond his ability to fix. This project has won development funding from the Israel Film Fund 2016 and is currently in casting and pre-production

Born Toronto, Canada. Graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London England.

“Lipstikka” (Odem, Israel/UK 2011), his second feature film as writer-director-producer, was presented in Competition at the Berlin International Film Festival 2011, in Competition at the Jerusalem International Film Festival 2011 (where it won two Best Actress awards), and in the Official Selection at the Toronto International Film Festival 2011 and in competition at the Seattle International Film Festival 2012.

“Urban Feel” (Israel 1999), his first feature film as writer-director-producer, was presented in Competition the Berlin International Film Festival 1999 and won numerous national and International awards.

“Drifting” (Nagua, Israel 1983), his first feature film as co-producer and leading actor, was presented at the Berlin International Film Festival 1984 and won various Israeli National Awards including Best Film, Best Leading Actor, Best Photography and Best Screenplay.

Sagall also wrote and directed two independent shorts, “Zerach Lipshitz’ Last Little Vacation” and “At Home” (Babait) both presented in national and international film festivals. Wrote and directed three stage plays – “Lea Goes Out On The Street”, “Cockroach” and “Easy Fixes to a Shitty Life”. His series of short stories “The Lonely Life of Hugo Asparagus” were published in the Israeli press. He was a regular staff writer on the Israeli-Palestinian production of “Sesame Street”.

Among his many Film & TV acting credits are ‘Bobby’ in the popular Israeli film series “Lemon Popsicle” (Eis Am Stiel), Robbie in Amos Guttman’s Drifting (Nagua), ‘Poldek Pfefferberg’ in Steven Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List”, ‘Emanuel’ in his own film “Urban Feel”, and ‘Asaf Refaeli’ in the Israeli Television drama series “Hamakom”.


Guy Allon

Guy Allon is an independent UK film producer with over ten years experience in producing high quality original content for the corporate, commercial and entertainment industry.

Coming from a line producing background he’s well versed in all aspects of production and has extensive experience working with Asia and the Far East.

Credits include ‘City Rats’ ; ‘In Your Dreams’ ; ‘Keith Lemon – The Movie’ and ‘Lipstikka’.
